The Leadership Development Corps is a Clear Breek ISD initiative founded in 1996.  This course is designed to foster self-discipline, positive self-concept, and a "can do attidute.  Topics of study include the following.

  2. Appreciating Diversity
  3. Communications Skills
  4. Conflict Resolution
  5. Team Cohesion
  6. Drug Prevention
  7. Proper Nutrition
  8. Active Lyfestyle
  9. Military Customs and Courtesies
  10. Drill
  11. Presentation and maintenance of the LDC uniform and rank identification

This course is based on the JROTC curriculum that lays the foundation and further interest in leadership and resource management training.  Cadets wear a uniform one day per week for a weekly grade.  The purpose of the uniform is to promote unity, teamwork, practice self-discipline, pay attention to detail and acquire leadership skills.

Level I cadets learn the basics of the topics of study and learn to work together as a team.

Level II cadets lead small groups of Level I cadets on squad and platoon levels.  Topics of study are discussed more in depth and cadets are expected to exeplimfy those areas of study.

Level III cadets lead larger groups of level I and II cadets on company and battalion levels.  Level III cadets also learn to plan organize and run teeam and battalion activities.  Topics of study are discussed at a more in depth level and cadets are expected to work within those parameters when performing LDC tasks and activities, as well as outside the classroom.
